Rooney has revealed he thinks England have had an easy World Cup draw. A key player in coach Fabio Capello’s plans when the tournament starts in June, has probably been suffering sleepless nights since the birth of his first child, Kai. Tiredness caught up with him after United travelled to London on Friday to prepare for the match with West Ham the next day.

“We got to the hotel about five o’clock,” said Rooney. “I laid down on my bed to watch the TV and fell asleep and didn’t find out what the draw was until 10 o’clock. It was a good draw. The US are a good team, I saw them beat Spain in the Confederations Cup. That will be the difficult game, but we should win against the other two [Slovenia and Algeria]. Of course we need to respect them. I don’t know too much about Algeria but I’m sure the manager will have loads of information for us before the game.

We played Slovenia two months ago and won 2-1, so it will be a tough game. But it could have been worse.”

Wayne Rooney has said he believes coach Capello has instilled a winning mentality in the England team which see them go all the way in the World Cup 2010 in South Africa . Beckham insists a new “steel” in the team is the reason he can dream of a triumphant end to what would be his fourth World Cup campaign. England open against the USA in Rustenburg on June 12 and Goldenballs feels that will be the launchpad for a run to ultimate victory in the final in Johannesburg on July 11.While Beckham admits there are no guarantees that he will be named in Capello’s squad, he is convinced that the Italian manager could make all the difference this time. The LA Galaxy star, 34, said: “I do believe we are in a situation that’s right for us now, all the way from the manager through the coaching staff.

SLovenia have revenge on their minds in their World Cup tie with England next year . Slovenia defender Bostjan Cesar was the victim in that incident, and he revealed that the whole Slovenian team would be determined to make the World Cup clash an “unpleasant experience for Rooney”. Cesar said: “The whole of Europe knows what Rooney did ?” he deliberately tried to injure me. It’s not sportsmanlike. I have a clear conscience, but I doubt he has one. We’ll give our all to make the England game an unpleasant experience for Rooney and his team-mates. We’re confident we can beat anybody and reach the second round.”
